A coffee future with a past

HGZ Maschinenbau AG was founded in 1937 by Heinrich Gertsch. Only eight years later the first coffee machine from the house of HGZ entered the market. The licence for the brand Bravilor was sold to the Dutch company Verheijen in 1959. In Switzerland, these filter coffee machines are still distributed exclusively by our company. With the takeover of its Swiss competitor Rex in 1969 and the founding of the brand Rex-Royal , HGZ successfully took its first steps toward the worldwide marketing of fully-automated coffee machines.

Since 1982, the operating company HGZ Maschinenbau AG has been owned by the Sager family. What Peter Sager successfully established, his son now leads into the next generation. This state of affairs guarantees independence, continuity and quality into the future. In October 2016 HGZ Maschinenbau AG was renamed into Rex-Royal AG.
